Sculpting
a Hidden Sanctuary
project in process
BEFORE &
AFTER Views
This narrow, flag-shaped, shady backyard
has two gates, two doors, and a stairway down
from the upper deck, yet lacked a coherent pathway.
A meandering hardscape path becomes a gracious
organizing element and provides ease of maintenance.
Circular patio seating & steel-column arc create a focal
point visible from all areas. Colorful plant materials
Witch Hazels, Japanese Maples, Hydrangeas, ferns,
and Veronicaprovide contrast and texture.
The salvaged galvanized trough is a terrific home
for this owner's much-loved Hostas.
